The Travelling Ookpik - Day three!

Day three of Chimo's fantastic journey!

Today Chimo travelled from Redding to San Francisco, California.

The day's driving began through what looked like a Window's wallpaper as Chimo cruised through Northern California's rather verdant farmland.

However, not too many miles down the road the rolling green fields gave way to houses and strip malls and all the other trappings of civilization- and eventually the famed Golden Gate Bridge itself!

After crossing the Golden Gate Bridge, Chimo wandered around Fisherman's Wharf (along with every other tourist on the planet) and posed in front of the famous sign.

Then Chimo stopped to contemplate Alketraz.

Even Chimo couldn't escape the allure of a pressed penny...

Nor could Chimo resist a lunch of clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl.

Perhaps Chimo got too far into the bread bowl concept... (for the record: Ookpiks make a rotten chowder ingredient.)

Later certain blog writers went for a fantastic crab dinner and neglected to bring Chimo along- so Chimo took advantage of the in-room DVD player to watch some Trailer Park Boys, thus fulfilling the day's obligatory Canadian content.

Tomorrow: onward towards Anaheim! Happy Valentine's day!
